Course Information and Aims
Linux and other operating systems face a number of threats in a
networked environment. It is possible to secure Linux against
these threats. The Leading Edge Linux Security course provides an
understanding of the security threats as well as the techniques
to counter these threats effectively while retaining the
functionality required from your linux system.
The techniques covered include a strong password policy,
correctly configuring access to system services, configuring
services for maximum security, using encryption and network-level
filtering.

Audience The Linux Security course is aimed at Linux system administrators.
We assume familiarity with Linux tools and TCP/IP networking. The ability
to write working shell scripts and to configure Linux servers is
a requirement.
